To find a strong gene pool to begin our maternal line, Broadwaters Rattery began work by sourcing four 'believed to be' unrelated foundation pairs. Work commenced breeding each pair, retaining two daughters and sourcing an unrelated buck per generation. The process continued for four years and 5 generations until the healthiest and longest lived Line could be selected. At which point, two other breeders were invited into the programme to take foundation females from Generation 6.
